EBA payroll and interpretation.

Send us the agreement and we build every clause into the pay engine, test it against your last real pay run, and maintain it as rates and increments step. You never fill in a configuration workbook.

The build

How does EBA interpretation work?

  1. 01

    We read it

The whole agreement, not a summary. Rates schedules, allowance tables, RDO calendar, shift definitions, redundancy fund clauses and the interaction rules.

    Reading your EBA…

  2. 02

    We model the hard clauses

All-purpose allowances, overtime interaction with shift loadings, minimum engagements, travel bands, distant work and anniversary rate steps.

    Modelling clauses…

  3. 03

    We test against your history

Your last real pay run becomes the test case. Differences get explained by clause before anyone signs off.

    Comparing runs…

  4. 04

    We maintain it forever

Rate steps, new agreements, back-pay on registration. No change request, no quote, no ticket queue.

    Applying rate step…

The hard parts

Which clauses break generalist payroll?

None of these are exotic. They're just not what a horizontal payroll platform was built for.

  • All-purpose allowances folded into the penalty base
  • Overtime that interacts with shift loadings
  • RDO accrual against a published calendar per state
  • Travel and fares paid per day actually worked
  • Multi-storey allowance bands by building level
  • Site allowances that vary by project, not by employer
  • Redundancy and portable long service fund contributions
  • Anniversary rate steps and back-pay on registration

EBA questions

Do we have to configure the EBA ourselves?

No. That's the whole point. You send the agreement; we build it. Most platforms hand you a configuration workbook and call it onboarding.

What does it cost?

$2,500 once per agreement at setup. Maintenance afterwards is included forever — rate steps, new clauses, renegotiations. Award-only crews pay nothing here.

How long does an EBA build take?

Typically inside two weeks, within the four-week go-live. Complex pattern agreements with multiple site schedules can take longer and we'll tell you upfront.

What if we have several agreements?

Common, and supported. Different workers can sit on different agreements in one pay run, and one worker can move between hosts or sites within a week.

What happens when the agreement is renegotiated?

We stage the new agreement so it switches on the day it takes effect, and calculate back-pay if registration lands later than the operative date.
