Security
Australian payroll data, stored in Australia, exportable on request
Controls
What controls do we hold ourselves to?
Data residency
Payroll data is stored in Australian data centres. Nothing about your crew leaves the country to be processed.
Encryption
Encrypted in transit and at rest, with key management separated from application access.
Access control
Least-privilege roles, per-user access, and every privileged action logged against a named person.
Record keeping
Wage and time records retained for seven years as the Fair Work Act requires, and exportable in full.
Privacy
Handled under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, including tax file number rules.
Backups & recovery
Point-in-time recovery with tested restores, because a missed pay run is not recoverable socially.
Change control
Interpretation logic changes are versioned, so you can see which rule set produced a historical run.
Exit
Your data leaves with you in full, in usable formats, without an offboarding fee.
Security questions
Where is our payroll data stored?
In Australia. Payroll contains tax file numbers, bank details and health-adjacent leave data, so residency is not a preference for us.
Who at Project Payroll can see our data?
Only staff who need it to deliver your payroll, under least-privilege access, with privileged actions logged against a named person.
How long do you keep records?
Seven years for wage and time records, as the Fair Work Act requires, and we make them exportable rather than trapped.
What happens to our data if we leave?
You get a full export in usable formats, and we delete what we're not legally required to retain. No exit fee.
